Beth Chatto Gardens

The Tendring Enterprise Agency was proud to host a free event on the 11th November, to help businesses flourish in the current harsh economic climate. The event, held in the beautiful tea room at Beth Chatto Gardens, was attended by businesses of all sizes and from numerous industries.

Speeches were presented by members of the Tendring Enterprise Agency, including Richard Bailey who talked about passion and Kevin Barnes who talked about his own rise from adversary after his business suffered a break in. Both speeches were well received by the community.

Another key speaker was Lamore Tulloch, who spoke about her own business adventure since her time helping to organise London 2012.

Every business at the event gave a fifteen second elevator pitch followed by the opportunity for networking. Each guest also received a plant from Beth Chatto Gardens to represent their growing businesses and the need to nurture a plant (i.e. business) for it to bloom properly.

The event ended on a high and although Tendring Enterprise Agency hosted the event to help businesses connect and do business, there was another reason. The team was hoping to find volunteers to help run the mentoring scheme by becoming mentors themselves. This was achieved very successfully with four of the attendees looking to become mentors very soon.

The TEA team have stated that the event was such a success that they hope another like it can be arranged in the future. The chance to network and share ideas and contacts is an important business activity and companies that do well often participate in networking frequently.

If you would like to know more about the Tendring Enterprise Agency and the opportunities to be mentored or to become a mentor, then speak to Richard or Kevin.
